The gallbladder is a small organ located directly under the liver. This acts as a reservoir, where bile is concentrated, which is secreted by the liver and is used by the body to digest fats. Bile contains cholesterol, bile salts, lecithin and other substances. Sometimes cholesterol crystals are mixed with the gallbladder bile and form vesicular stones. It is more common in women, four times more than man and in certain population groups. Vesicular problems usually occur after 40, this is why this disease is known as the disease of the three F: Forty, Fat, Female (woman, with 40-year-old obesity problems).
